Highly Credentialed Attorney Stephanie Douglas Bolsters Appellate and Class Action Teams
Reinforcements Arrive: BSP Welcomes Senior Associate, Stephanie Douglas
TROY, Michigan – In 2008, one of the firm’s founding partners, The Honorable Raymond M. Kethledge, was honored with an appointment to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. Along with the “K” from the door, he took his expertise in appellate and class action matters. BSP searched for more than three years for someone who could complement the firm’s strong class action team (supported by new BSP partner Moheeb Murray), and lead the firm’s appellate practice. When BSP found Stephanie Douglas, with her proven ability to make complex legal arguments, the team was complete once again.
Stephanie graduated summa cum laude from the University of Michigan Law School in 2006, where she earned numerous awards for outstanding academic work and served as the executive articles editor for the school’s technology journal. Before joining BSP, Douglas was an associate at Honigman Miller Schwartz and Cohn LLP. She also gained experience as a judicial law clerk for Judge Feikens of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan and for Judge Kethledge of the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. In addition to her legal talent, Douglas offers practical business and technical experience, which she acquired during her ten-year engineering and consulting career with Accenture.
When she’s not solving problems for clients, Stephanie enjoys hosting game nights with friends, trying to figure out what all the buttons do on her digital camera (and occasionally snapping photos of her two kids and husband), and reading books that don’t include Latin phrases, abbreviations like “i.e.” and “e.g.” or words such as “heretofore.”
