Bush Seyferth PLLC is a boutique litigation firm with a national practice seeking a college graduate or experienced paralegal to work as part of our discovery team.  The position requires a smart, detail-oriented, personable self-motivator with excellent communication skills, a professional demeanor, and who is capable of managing a large volume of complex cases with voluminous document productions. A sense of humor is a big plus.

Job duties include:

  • Draft discovery responses for attorney review, document review and organization, prepare documents for production, hard copy and electronic.
  • Analyze and interpret technical information received from clients and translate for reports and discovery responses.
  • Analyze client and engineering documents.
  • Assist attorneys with motion practice.
  • Be ready and eager to take on more responsibility and grow.

Required Qualifications:

  • College degree and/or paralegal experience.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent oral and written communication ability.
  • Outstanding client service skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • High level of comfort with technology, including the ability to learn new software and procedures quickly.

The trial paralegal position requires someone who has a proactive approach to handling cases and can work independently, with excellent attention to detail.

Job duties include:

  • Document review, analysis, and management.
  • Assist in preparing discovery and responses to discovery requests.
  • Prepare subpoenas.
  • Assist in investigation of case background facts.
  • Coordinate document productions.
  • Prepare privilege logs.
  • Prepare and manage exhibits for depositions, briefs, hearings, mock trials, and trials.
  • Attend evidentiary hearings, mock trials, and trials to assist with exhibits and trial software.
  • Experience in reviewing and summarizing medical records is preferred, but not required.

  • Maintain and coordinate calendars, handle scheduling appointments, and diary due dates.
  • Draft, edit, format, and finalize documents.
  • Assemble and organize documents for depositions, motions, and meetings.
  • Open and close matters.
  • Maintain/update contact lists, distribution lists, and case lists.
  • Handle travel arrangements.
  • Prepare documents for filing with the Court, including e-filings.
  • Enter billable time.
  • Conduct conflict checks.
