BSP Law Supported NICU Families Through Holiday Donations and NIKO in the NICU

This holiday season, BSP Law helped spread cheer to families with babies in the NICU at Corewell Health Royal Oak by donating treats and essential items. Each care package also included a children’s book, NIKO in the NICU, co-written by BSP Law Associate Dylan Goodwin and his wife, Taylor.

Inspired by the Goodwins’ son Niko—who was born at just 1 lb. 8 oz. at 26 weeks gestation—the book draws from the family’s more than 100-day NICU journey to offer encouragement, understanding, and hope to other NICU families navigating similar experiences.

Told through the eyes of Niko, an adorable baby turtle, NIKO in the NICU blends humor and optimism while reflecting the real challenges and triumphs of life in the NICU, ultimately celebrating resilience and growth.

Beyond the book, Dylan and Taylor founded the nonprofit NIKO in the NICU, which supports families with children in the Corewell Health Royal Oak NICU. A portion of the book’s proceeds helps provide meals, care packages, and comfort items to families during their NICU stays.
