Emily Thoren leads recruiting and employee experience at Bush Seyferth, working at the intersection of talent, culture, and people operations. She manages full-cycle recruiting for attorneys, law students, paralegals, and professional staff—guiding candidates through a thoughtful process from first conversation through offer—and supports employees throughout their time at the firm, from onboarding through every stage of their careers.
Emily brings more than a decade of talent acquisition and people operations experience across legal and professional services organizations, including attorney and legal staff recruiting for boutique and Am Law firms and a regional HR leadership role at a large Michigan law firm. She has a track record of building strong recruiting pipelines, implementing applicant tracking systems, and creating onboarding and engagement programs that support retention—experience that aligns directly with Bush Seyferth’s belief that great firms are built through intentional hiring and meaningful employee experiences.
Emily holds an MS in Management, Strategy, and Leadership from Michigan State University and a BBA in Human Resources Management from Eastern Michigan University, and maintains PHR and SHRM-CP certifications. She is based in the firm’s Troy office.
